The third winner of the online campaign in the UK, "One hour away from you", visited Corunna.

  • This is the first campaign to attract tourism off seasonality in the UK. The goal is to position Corunna and its metropolitan area as a tourism destination beyond the summer season.
 
  • The campaign will run until December the 15th. Until then, another tour package will be drawn through facebook.
Corunna, November 13th , 2011.-  John Paul Seaman, 48 year-old from Coventry, is the third winner of the contest that Turismo da Coruña has launched through facebook, within the campaign One hour away from you.  Seaman, who came to Alvedro in the direct flight from Heathrow on Friday, has spent all weekend in the city, staying at the Hotel Meliá María Pita and enjoying a tourist package that includes a tour of the most attractive places in Corunna and its area.  

Within the campaign, which runs until December 15, it will be drawn another package including a two-days stay. To enter the contest it is needed to answer a series of questions designed to reinforce the connection between Britain and Corunna, in this case the questions are related to Sir Jonh Jonh Moore, the Battle of Corunna, Picasso and the Tower of Hercules. One hour away from you
is the first campaign performed to attract tourism off seasonality in the UK beyond the summer season. The objective of this initiative is to promote Corunna´s position as a destination within the British market and strengthen existing ties with the United Kingdom.  

The digital nature of this campaign marks a beginning in the use of new technologies by Turismo da Coruña that from now will increase its presence in social networks, since most of the tourists access to their vacation destination via internet. On this occasion two aspects have been taken into account: on one hand, the profiles that are targeted in the campaign (families, youth, couples...) and secondly, the fact that Corunna is only an hour away  from London.    

This initiative is part of the Plan to Promote Tourism Product (PDPT) in the metropolitan area and has a budget of 27,730 Euros.
